About Breaking Trails

Vision

To provide quality Occupational Therapy services to children ages 0-18 within the San Luis Valley while promoting a culture of inclusion, acceptance and resilience in the Valley community.

Mission

Breaking Trails Therapy operates out of the distinct understanding that each of us is on a unique path moving towards a functional and optimistic future.

Why “Breaking Trails”?

When on an adventure, the person leading is known to be breaking the trail. This is the person who must drive forward, determine their path, and consider those who are following in their trail. They are leading the adventure. Families, children, and people with diagnosed or undiagnosed disabilities and differences in life are continually breaking their own trails each day.

My desire for this practice is that each client and their families would be empowered to confidently break their own unique trail and move forward with successful treatment tools. These tools can be learned through direct one on one therapy, teletherapy sessions and/or consultation sessions.

Occupations and daily activities (i.e. play, self care, learning) along with current research are used to support any treatment approach to help embrace the next adventure as we embrace the challenges and obstacles.
